  • Double-check your inputs. The most common cause of an unexpected result is a small input mistake — a unit mismatch, a missing decimal, a wrong category. Read the field labels carefully and re-enter anything that looks off.
  • Understand what the tool is calculating. Each tool page explains the formula being used and any assumptions behind it. A two-minute read of that explanation will tell you whether the result matches your situation.
  • Model more than one scenario. Especially for finance and planning tools, running a best case, a middle case, and a worst case side by side is often more informative than any single answer.
  • Treat the result as a starting point. Take the number to the person or institution that will act on it — your bank, your doctor, your university — and use it as the first line of the conversation rather than the last word.

They are composites. Each one reflects a real category of use we see on the site, but we do not attach names, photos, or specific figures to them. That keeps the page honest and avoids presenting unverifiable personal stories as facts. The patterns behind these scenarios are genuine — for example, that grade conversions need to happen before applications — but the details are general on purpose.

Why are no specific numbers or outcomes shown?

Because numbers with no source behind them are not useful. A claim that someone saved a specific amount of money is not evidence that the tool will do the same for you. Most of them do. The finance, health, and productivity tools use universal formulas that do not depend on a specific country's rules. The education tools are more specific, because each country has its own exam system and its own grading conventions. If you are outside the countries the education tools cover, you may still find them useful as rough references, but they will not match your national system exactly.
